Many times, during my 30year service in organizing and completing cultural and religious tours, which have been and still are my only business activity after the fulfillment of my studies, I have wondered if a Christian comes to this life caring within him the longing, hope and promise to himself to visit during his earthly life the places where the Son of God was born, performed miracles, taught and was crucified.
Of course these questions don’t come to me by chance.
Every pilgrim who claimed he had completed his pilgrimage, on his return, expressed to me along, when I welcomed him at the airport or port, his acknowledgement and his deep satisfaction and wishes with phrases such as «Thank you my son. Thanks to you I managed to complete my vow. May God always keep you safe.»
It is usually elderly people who say this, those who with sacrifice and strict
economy gather their money cent by cent in order to cover the expenses to participate in the pilgrimage.
